Visiting Your Dentist

Posted .

Ideally, our dentist, Dr. Robert Marder at Robert W Marder DMD, PLLC in New City, New York, would like to see you and each member of your family for a routine dental cleaning and checkup at least every six months, Many people put off seeing their dentist until something goes wrong, But, regular appointments will give the doctor the chance to give your teeth and mouth a thorough examination and he can spot and treat any minor problems before they become larger, painful and expensive ones. Your dentist will also remove the plaque and tartar from your teeth that can cause cavities and gum disease.

With that in mind, not every person is the same, and some people may need to see the dentist on a more frequent basis, depending on their oral health. However, if you notice pain in your mouth or teeth, or if you notice any changes, you should contact our office at 212-265-8291 for an appointment. Changes in your mouth may mean that there is an underlying condition that needs to be addressed by your dentist. In particular, if you notice pain, swelling, changes in the color or texture of your mouth, or if you notice bleeding gums, you should schedule an appointment.

If you are pregnant, or if there is a possibility that you might be, you should contact us for an appointment. Hormonal changes can make you more susceptible to gum disease during pregnancy; and an exam will reveal any problems that need to be fixed before your new baby comes. If you have recently been diagnosed with a disease or you are starting a new medication please give our office a call.

It may have been some time since you have been in to see the dentist. Don’t wait until you are in pain, or you think something may be wrong, make an appointment to come see us today.
